Specialized instruction in a positive environment ensures proper progression for your child in a continuous planned program from September through June. All dancers work towards a beautiful gala performance in June held at Ryerson Theatre in Toronto. Our costumes are reasonably priced and based around dancewear that can be worn all year long. Under our convenient payment plan, class fees are collected only 6 weeks in advance. This makes it the perfect way to “try out” dance classes in a professional studio environment, without making a large financial commitment. There are no registration or administration fees and discounts are available for families and participants taking more than one class per week. Each class size is limited to an appropriate number to assure the proper student-teacher ratio and the greatest amount of personal attention for each child. A brief description of each of our classes can be found below.

 

CREATIVE DANCE (3-5 YEARS)

Creative Dance is an expressive, positive first dance experience. Songs, games and props such as scarves & ribbons are utilized to encourage movement and creativity. Children will learn the basic structure of dance class, along with stretches and fundamental locomotor movements such as skipping & galloping. Concepts such as fast & slow, soft & strong, high & low, etc. are explored through imaginative games. Boys and girls alike will enjoy and benefit from leaping, spinning, marching and dancing!

 

DANCE BEGINNERS

Dance Beginners is a class specifically designed for 5 & 6 year olds. It is an hour-long class, which incorporates 15 minutes of Creative dance, and 45 minutes divided between Ballet and Jazz. Although dance technique is introduced, it is presented in a fun manner, and only a small amount of time is spent on each concept. The result is a quick moving, energetic class sure to please the younger dancer.

 

JAZZ (6 YEARS TO ADULT)

Jazz  is one of the most popular dance forms. Jazz is seen everywhere from movies to Broadway. Modern music and moves make Jazz a fun way to get fit while developing coordination, rhythm and flexibility.

 

BALLET (6 YEARS TO ADULT)

Ballet is the basis for not only all dance forms, but skating and gymnastics as well. Appearing graceful and slow, Ballet technique is actually difficult and demanding. Ballet improves muscle tone, cardiovascular endurance, balance, posture, even walking!

 

TAP (6 YEARS TO ADULT)

Make your own music to dance to! Develop fancy footwork in this fun class that teaches rhythm and skill, and uses music of today and past decades.

 

HIP HOP (7 YEARS AND UP)

Learn the moves from the latest music videos! You are bound to improve your fitness level with this high-energy class done to dance and rap music.

 

MUSICAL THEATRE (7 YEARS AND UP)

Develop showmanship and stage personality with this Broadway-dancing style class involving characterization. lip-synching. dancing, and acting.

 

ACRO (5 YEARS AND UP)

A combination of dance and gymnastics, acro emphasizes strength and flexibility.

 

POINTE

Ballet involving the use of “Pointe” or “Toe” shoes. By audition only.
