Included in this information is the "Show Order". Please refer to it to assist you in determining when you/your child have to be backstage. When coming backstage, all dancers and parents MUST go through the hallways or gymnasium only and not through the theatre. Please follow the signs we will have posted. Parents are responsible for bringing their children backstage at the appropriate time. Younger dancers will then be supervised backstage until after they dance and then escorted back to the hallway outside the auditorium where parents can meet them and bring them to their seats until their next routine or the Finale. Parents are not permitted in the wings/backstage area. (volunteers only) Please see over for complete details.
The Dancers in the show have all worked very, very hard for this one special day, and they are all excited about it. Every dancer is in the Finale - which is an awesome sight to see! Please don’t “intend” to bring your kids home after they dance! It is a very entertaining show, and we encourage everyone to show their support to ALL of these kids! (even the ones in the second half!) Thank you!
Please be as considerate of others as possible when getting in and out of seats!!
Dancers are responsible for their own warm-ups!
Dancers in the first 8 numbers of Act 1 should be backstage in full costume and make-up by 1:45 pm. After they have danced, they may return to their seats in the auditorium, or change for their next number. Younger dancers will be supervised backstage by a parent volunteer and escorted back to the theatre doors where they will wait with their supervisor until a parent picks them up.
Dancers in routines # 9-14 of Act 1 should make their way backstage, ready to dance, after routine #4 “Hit The Road Jack”
Dancers in routines # 15-26 of Act 1 should make their way backstage, ready to dance, after routine #10 "Purse First”.
Dancers in routines #1-3 of Act 2 should report backstage ready to dance at the start of the intermission. Younger dancers will be supervised by a parent volunteer and then escorted to the theatre doors after they have danced.
Dancers in routines # 8-11 of Act 2 should make their way backstage, ready to dance, after routine # 3 “Happy”.
Dancers in routines # 12-18 of Act 2 should make their way backstage, ready to dance, after routine #8 “Hand Clap”.
Dancers in routines # 19-23 of Act 2 should make their way backstage, ready to dance, after routine # 16 “Becoming”.
ALL DANCERS ARE IN THE FINALE !! (It's a sight to behold!) DANCERS WILL COME ON TO THE STAGE FOR THE FINALE FROM THEIR SEATS IN THE THEATRE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF “TOPSY TURVY” WHO WILL ENTER FROM THE WINGS. PLEASE ENCOURAGE THEM TO GO SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY UP THE STAIRS TO THE STAGE. Dancers are to remain in their seats until the end of the final number. (“Colour Me In”) Little ones are instructed to remain onstage after the Finale until a parent collects them.
On behalf of all the teachers, I'd like to take this time to thank you all for another outstanding year. It's gone by so fast!! We all feel really lucky to be surrounded by such nice dancers and parents. See you at the show!
